The Symptom

What Was Actually Wrong
The inlet water valve was leaking. This is the valve that controls water entering the machine for each fill cycle — it opens and closes electrically to let water into the tub at the right point in the wash. Over time, the internal seals or the mixing mechanism inside the valve can wear out or fail to seat properly. When that happens, water doesn't fully shut off between cycles, or it seeps past the valve body itself. Either way, it ends up dripping inside the cabinet instead of going where it's supposed to.

The Repair

The old valve was pulled and swapped for a new mixing valve (part 205765), which handles the hot and cold water intake and directs it into the machine on schedule. Once the new valve was installed and connected, the water lines were checked for proper seating and the machine was run through a fill cycle to confirm there was no more dripping.
